I`m going into my 8th year of acne, and my fourth of cystic.
In the last 24 hours four new cysts have formed, in four of the same
places that they always do. Over the past few years I've estimated th at
I have two dozen different and recurring cysts on my face, neck, and
shoulders. Why do these always show up in the same place? Is it the same
cyst getting infected every time? If so, can they all simply be
surgically removed? The scars of two dozen incisions would be better than
the cysts themselves...
Right now I am on Erythrocin (1000mg/day), Clindamycin, and Differin.
This is my second antibiotic (I was on something initially that worked but
gave me massive headaches).
My doctor upped the antibiotic (up from 500mg/day) and after two months it
has done little to nothing. I don't have very much of that little
whitehead stuff anymore, but what I do have are dozens of large blackheads
on my nose, and cysts all over the place, including my nose. I have
noticed that my nose has slowly grown larger over the years as a result of
the cysts and the built-up of scar tissue. I have three cysts on my chin,
one on my jaw, two on my nose, three on my eyebrows, three on my forehead,
two on my neck, one behind my ear, and two on my back right now. This is
not good.
I lived with mild acne for four years, and when it got bad, saw the doctor.
On-and-off, the medications have really kept things at bay, but I always
had flare ups. Now the flare ups are gone and I simply have the old crud
back in full effect all the time. Even with the medication.
